ABOUT THE HYBRID MIX
I’ve spent more than 20 years making music from just about every side of the process.
I started as a performer—a singer, musician, and songwriter playing clubs, theaters, private events, and everything in between.
Those years still shape the way I approach production today:
The work and the performance come first.
But I was always fascinated by what happened on the other side of the microphone. That curiosity pulled me into recording, producing, mixing, composition, and sound design—and eventually into working across music, film, podcasts, and live production.
From the stage to the control room
That’s why I built The Hybrid Mix
Today, I’m the Director of Production at Flushing Town Hall, one of New York City’s cultural institutions, where I oversee the technical production of more than 100 performances and events each year.
That keeps me where I want to be: surrounded by artists.
It also gives me a perspective that shapes everything I do. I understand what happens before the microphone, behind the console, on the stage, and after the recording is finished.I know when technical perfection helps the work—and when it gets in the way.
The Hybrid Mix brings those worlds together.
Artist and engineer.
Studio and stage.
Technical and creative.
Analog and digital.
Sometimes that means transforming finished tracks into a mix. Sometimes it’s figuring out why a song isn’t landing. Sometimes it’s producing a vocal, designing a sonic environment, or helping take an idea all the way through final delivery.
The tools change.The goal doesn’t:
Make the work hit the way it was meant to.
Technology has made extraordinary production possible almost anywhere. But great audio still depends on taste, judgment, communication, performance, and thousands of tiny creative decisions.
That’s the hybrid in The Hybrid Mix.
